Former MLA and BJP leader Rajendra Rana has made serious allegations against the Himachal Pradesh Congress government. On March 19, he claimed that the police had registered a false case against his wife and son in Sirmaur police station under the influence of the state government.
Rajendra Rana’s Political Journey
- In 2017, Rajendra Rana defeated former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in the Sujanpur assembly elections and gained attention.
- In 2022, he won the elections again on a Congress ticket.
- In February 2024, he was one of the Congress MLAs who supported the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections and later joined BJP.
- In 2023, he contested the by-elections on a BJP ticket but lost.
‘We Will Fight in Court’
Rana accused Chief Minister and his close ministers of political revenge. He said that he and his family would fight this case in court.
While speaking to journalists, Rana explained that Anil Chauhan had taken ₹2.5 crore from him to set up a stone crusher business.
- This amount was given in installments between 2020 and 2022.
- His family was promised a 50-50 partnership in the business.
- Later, they realized that no stone crusher was set up and filed a complaint with Sirmaur police.
- When Chauhan refused to return the money, they also filed a case in Mohali police station, where Chauhan was called for questioning.
‘False Case Was Filed’
According to Rana, Chauhan approached Congress leaders to avoid returning the money.
- He claimed that a false case was filed against his family without a proper investigation.
- He accused the police of acting in haste under pressure from the Congress government.
The matter is now expected to be fought in court, and political tensions are rising in Himachal Pradesh. 🚨
