In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, members of the Karni Sena attacked the house of Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman on Wednesday. The attack happened while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also in Agra for an event. This has raised questions about the role of Agra Police in handling the situation.
Akhilesh Yadavโs Reaction
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the government on social media. He posted:
“Has the bulldozer been taken away too? Now someone else is controlling it. Will you take away the identity along with the position at the time of farewell? This is not right.”
According to media reports, the police failed to stop the protestors over a 20 km stretch from Kuberpur to the MPโs house in Hariparvat.
Over 100 Vehicles Reached the Spot
- Karni Sena workers were hiding near the MPโs house, making it difficult for the police to control them.
- Around 50-60 policemen were deployed, but they could not handle the large crowd of Karni Sena workers.
- Karni Senaโs National President Vir Pratap Singh and Regional President Okendra Chauhan led the protest with over 100 vehicles filled with supporters.
Police Action and Injuries
- Several people were taken into custody.
- Police officials claimed they tried to stop the attackers at multiple locations and prevented a major incident.
- Around 10 policemen were injured during the clash.
Akhilesh Yadav condemned the attack and criticized CM Yogi Adityanathโs government for its failure to control the situation.
