The latest ICC Women’s ODI Rankings have brought great news for India. Just like in men’s cricket, Indian women players are also showing their dominance on the world stage. Star batter Smriti Mandhana has achieved her career-best rating points and is now sitting at the No. 1 position in ODI batting rankings. At the same time, all-rounder Deepti Sharma has broken into the top 5 of ODI bowling rankings.
Smriti Mandhana Tops Batting Rankings
Smriti Mandhana is leading the ICC ODI batting chart with 818 rating points. She has been in outstanding form, scoring runs consistently. In the recent ODI series against Australia, Mandhana scored centuries in two out of three matches.
In the third ODI, she smashed a record-breaking 100 in just 50 balls, becoming the fastest Indian player to score an ODI century. With this, she broke Virat Kohli’s record, who earlier held the record with a 52-ball century.
Deepti Sharma Enters Top 5 in Bowling
India’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma has climbed to the fifth position in ICC ODI bowling rankings with 651 rating points. Though she did not get a wicket in the first ODI against Australia, she took 2 wickets each in the second and third matches.
Deepti also contributed with the bat. She scored 20 not out off 16 balls in the first ODI, followed by 40 runs off 53 balls in the second, and a brilliant 72 runs off 58 balls in the third. Even though India could not win that match, her performance stood out.
India’s women cricketers are proving themselves as consistent performers, and with Mandhana and Deepti shining in the ICC rankings, the team looks stronger than ever.
