The voting for the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary of the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) was completed on Friday. Candidates, leaders, workers, and students are now eagerly waiting for the election results. Originally, the results were supposed to be announced on September 28, but the Delhi High Court has put a hold on this, meaning everyone will have to wait up to a month for the results.
There is still uncertainty about whether the results will even be declared after that time. This will depend on the decision made by the Delhi High Court. According to the court’s order, the next hearing regarding the DUSU elections is scheduled for October 21. So, there is no expectation of results before that date.

The court had noted that there seemed to be large-scale use of money and power in the elections, based on the facts presented. The High Court commented that what should have been a democratic celebration now looked more like a situation involving money laundering and damage to public property.
Why Were the Election Results Stopped?
The Delhi High Court expressed its disappointment with the university administration, asking why the Lingdoh Committee’s guidelines were ignored and why no action was taken. As a result, while the court allowed the voting to take place, it has put a hold on the counting of votes and the announcement of the results until its next order. It’s important to note that the voting for the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary took place on September 27.
