She attended Springdales School on Pusa Road, New Delhi, for her high school education. She then pursued a Bachelor’s degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. After completing her Master’s, Atishi continued her education at Magdalen College, Oxford, from 2005. She is known as a politician, educator, political activist, and Member of Parliament. From July 2015 to April 2018, she worked as the Education Advisor to Manish Sisodia, who was then the Deputy Chief Minister.
Joining AAP
Atishi joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2013 and played a crucial role in reforming Delhi’s education system. She served as the Chief Advisor to Education Minister Manish Sisodia and later took on the role of Education Minister herself.

Before entering politics, Atishi worked as an activist and spent seven years in a small village in Madhya Pradesh. She was involved in various educational and organic farming initiatives. Her first encounter with AAP members happened during this period. She also taught History and English at Rishi Valley School in Andhra Pradesh.
