Donald Trump to Impose Tariffs on 12 Countries – Signs Trade Letters

Published:

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is once again ready to impose new trade tariffs. On Friday (July 4, 2025), he said that he had signed trade-related letters, which will soon be sent to about 12 countries before the deadline he had given to avoid the tariffs.

🔹 Trump Signed Tariff Letters

Speaking to journalists on Air Force One, Trump said:

“I have signed some letters, around 12 in number, and they will be sent on Monday (July 7, 2025).

He also said that the names of the countries will be officially announced on the same day.

🔸 “Sending Notices Is Easier Than Talking”

Trump explained that:

“It is easier to send notices than to sit and talk about 15 different issues. We did this with the UK, and it worked well. We also did this with China, and I think that also worked out fine.”

He added:

“It’s very simple to send a letter saying – ‘Look, we know we are losing money with some countries. Some are good for us, but not many. If you want to do business with America, you must pay these tariffs.’”

🌍 Impact on Countries from Taiwan to the European Union

Trump’s warning comes just days before high tariffs will be applied to products from countries like Taiwan and the European Union.

Earlier, on Thursday (July 3, 2025), Trump said that these tariffs will range from 10% to 70%, depending on the country and goods.

These new tariffs are expected to impact the economies of many countries around the world.

✅ Summary

  • Trump signed 12 tariff letters to be sent on July 7, 2025.
  • The countries affected will be announced soon.
  • Tariff rates will range from 10% to 70%.
  • Countries from Taiwan to the EU may face the impact.
  • Trump said sending notices is easier than negotiating multiple trade issues.

This move may lead to global trade tensions and affect international relations.
