Elon Musk’s Statement on X Server Attack Creates Panic

Published:

On Monday, Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly Twitter) faced multiple server outages. Musk revealed that X was hit by a major cyber attack, which caused the platform to go down. Many users reported issues on social media. Even after being restored, the platform went down again. Now, Musk has linked this cyber attack to Ukraine. Let’s see what he said.

Was Ukraine Behind the Attack?

While speaking to a TV channel, Musk said,
“We are not completely sure what happened, but a major cyber attack took place, which caused X’s servers to go down. The IP address of this cyber attack was from the Ukraine region.”

Earlier, in an X post, he mentioned that X faces daily cyber attacks, but this time, it was a large-scale attack with powerful resources. He also suggested that a large organized group or even a country could be involved.

Which Group Claimed Responsibility?

A Palestinian-supporting hacker group, Dark Storm Team, has claimed responsibility for the attack on X. In a Telegram post, the group stated that they carried out the cyber attack on X’s servers.

This group is known for targeting countries and companies that support Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Musk’s Ongoing Criticism of Ukraine

Elon Musk, who is close to former US President Donald Trump, has frequently criticized Ukraine.

Recently, he stated that if Starlink satellite services were shut down, Ukraine’s frontline would collapse. However, he also assured that he would not shut down Starlink services, as they are a crucial support for the Ukrainian military.
