The Indian Cybersecurity Agency CERT-In has issued a warning for all Google Chrome desktop users. They have found serious security issues in older versions of Chrome. These issues are so dangerous that hackers can steal your personal data from your system.
What Should You Do?
If you’re using Google Chrome, you must update it immediately. The new update will fix these security problems and keep your data safe from cybercriminals.
What Are the Problems?
CERT-In says there are bugs in Chrome’s features like:
- Custom Tabs
- Intents
- Extensions
- Navigation
- Autofill
- Downloads
These bugs are caused by improper coding. If you visit a specially designed malicious website, hackers can use these bugs to run harmful code on your system. This could lead to data theft, system crash, or instability.
Which Versions Are Affected?
- On Linux: versions older than 135.0.7049.52
- On Windows and macOS: versions older than 135.0.7049.41/42
If you’re using Chrome on your personal or office computer, you are at risk if you haven’t updated yet.
