Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Kirit Vardhan Singh, made a visit to Gonda and spoke about various issues, including global warming, in an interview with ABP News. He emphasized that global warming is a concern for the entire world and can only be tackled if all nations work together. Major conferences are held regularly to address this issue.
He mentioned that in November, an important conference, MS Triple C, will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where a delegation from India will participate to discuss solutions to combat global warming.
Singh highlighted that India is actively working on reducing the impact of global warming, through what is called the Nationally Determined Commitments (INDC), which involve analyzing ways to reduce emissions. He also pointed out that India is progressing quickly towards using alternative energy sources to reduce the use of harmful fuels for electricity production.
Praises for PM Modi
Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s environmental campaign, “One Tree for Mother,” calling it an important step towards reducing pollution. He noted that India has made significant progress in increasing forest cover under PM Modi’s leadership over the last 12 years.
Wildlife Investigation
Regarding recent attacks by wolves in the Bahraich district, Singh said that the forest department is investigating these incidents. Five wolves responsible for several child deaths have been captured and sent to a zoo. He emphasized that a thorough investigation is needed to prevent such incidents in the future.
Criticism of Arvind Kejriwal
Singh criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s promise to waive off electricity bills in the Haryana election. He claimed that during Kejriwal’s tenure, many ministers from the AAP government spent time in jail, and there was a joke that the government was run from Tihar Jail instead of the Delhi Assembly.

He further stated that in the Goa elections, AAP tried to attract voters by offering free benefits, but the educated people of Goa didn’t fall for it, and AAP didn’t win any seats.
On the Name Plate Controversy
Singh also commented on the recent nameplate controversy in Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, stating that every state government has its own policies, and it is their right to implement them as they see fit. He downplayed the internal conflict within Congress over this issue.
