New Delhi:
A new incident has come to light where Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, received a public threat. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning while Salim Khan was out for his morning walk at Bandstand. A young man and a woman in a burqa approached him on a scooter and asked, “Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?”
The Bandra police have taken the threat seriously and have registered a case against the unidentified individuals. They have already arrested one person in connection with the threat. For about a year, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been threatening to kill actor Salman Khan. Recently, Bishnoi’s associates even fired shots at Salman Khan’s house.
A few months ago, Mumbai police filed a charge sheet in the case of threats to Salman Khan. The charge sheet included Khan’s statement. According to Khan, he believes that the shooting incident at his residence in April was carried out by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with the intention of harming him and his family. Khan’s statement is part of the charge sheet submitted to the court.
Salman Khan told the police that on the morning of April 14, while he was asleep at his Galaxy Apartment residence, he heard sounds similar to firecrackers. His police bodyguard informed him around 4:55 AM that two people on a motorcycle had fired shots at the first-floor balcony. Khan learned later that Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting through a Facebook post.
The charge sheet stated that Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang had previously threatened to kill Khan and his relatives. Salman Khan informed the police that he believed Bishnoi, with the help of his gang, had carried out the shooting while his family was asleep, planning to kill him and his family members.
Khan also mentioned that he and his family had received several threats in recent years. In 2022, a threatening letter was found on a bench outside his building. In March 2023, he received an email threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Additionally, in January 2024, two unidentified individuals tried to enter his farmhouse near Panvel using fake identities.
