Speaking to the media, the protesters said that Yunus had illegally taken over power. They accused him of seizing control through corrupt means, which led to many deaths. They also emphasized that Sheikh Hasina, the elected Prime Minister, had not officially resigned yet. The protesters requested the United Nations not to recognize Yunus as representing the people of Bangladesh.
