Nitish Government’s New Gifts for Artists and Youth – Simple English Summary

On 1st July 2025, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a cabinet meeting. The government approved 24 important proposals. The most special news is for artists and youth of Bihar.


🎨 Good News for Senior Artists

The government will now give ₹3,000 per month as pension to senior and struggling artists.

Who will get this money?

  • Age must be 50 years or more
  • Annual income should be less than ₹1,20,000
  • Must have 10 years of experience in art

For this, the government will spend ₹1 crore every year.


📚 Guru-Shishya Scheme for Rare Arts

Cabinet also approved “Mukhyamantri Bihar Guru Shishya Parampara Yojana”.

What will happen in this scheme?

  • Rare and lost art forms of Bihar will be promoted.
  • Young students will learn from expert teachers (gurus).
  • The government will spend ₹1.11 crore per year.

🎓 Internship Scheme for Students – “Pratigya Yojana”

Another scheme approved is “Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana”, which helps skilled youth with monthly internships.

How much will they get?

  • 12th pass: ₹4,000 per month
  • ITI or Diploma holders: ₹5,000 per month
  • Postgraduates: ₹6,000 per month

Extra help for those away from home:

  • Interns in another district: ₹2,000/month extra
  • Interns in other states: ₹5,000/month extra

Goal of the scheme:

  • In 2025-26, help 5,000 youths
  • From 2026 to 2031, help 1 lakh youths

These steps by the Nitish government aim to support art, culture, and youth employment in Bihar.
