The controversy over Premanand Maharaj’s padayatra (foot procession) in Vrindavan, Mathura is not settling down. Even though Premanand Maharaj has changed his route, the matter is still escalating.
Posters Against NRI Green Society Members
Local shopkeepers have put up posters against the NRI Green Society members who protested against Premanand Maharaj’s procession. The posters state that people from NRI Green Society will not be served in their shops. These posters were seen in two shops near the NRI Green Society.
One of the shop owners, who runs a dhaba (small restaurant), received a threat from an unknown person and later removed the poster. Another shop owner, Mukund, who sells garments, said:
“They have opposed our Radha Rani, so we have put up these posters in protest.”
This situation has now divided the people. Some are supporting Premanand Maharaj, while others are supporting NRI Green Society’s protest.
Why Did NRI Green Society Protest?
A few days ago, members of the NRI Green Society protested against Premanand Maharaj’s padayatra. They complained that:
- The loud sound of music and fireworks during the night was disturbing their sleep.
- They demanded a ban on the padayatra during nighttime.
To avoid conflict, Premanand Maharaj changed the route and continued the padayatra without loud music and fireworks.
Shops Refusing to Sell Goods to NRI Green Residents
After this controversy, some shopkeepers in Vrindavan have started boycotting NRI Green Society members. They have put up posters stating:
“NRI Green residents will not be served here.”
However, after a shopkeeper received threats, he decided not to open his shop and removed the poster.
What Will Happen Next?
It is unclear whether this issue will end here or if it will take a new turn. The situation remains tense, with both sides standing firm on their views.
