Ahead of the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh for 10 assembly seats, there has been controversy over the transfer and posting of officials. The Samajwadi Party (SP) claims that Muslim and Yadav officials are being transferred in the constituencies where elections are taking place.
An SP delegation, including Professor Ramgopal Yadav and MP Javed Khan, met with Election Commission officials to raise their concerns. They complained about the transfers of these officials.
Ramgopal Yadav accused the BJP government of transferring Muslim and Yadav officials out of fear of losing the bypolls. He said that the BJP is trying to shift blame for their failures onto the officials.
In response to BJP’s internal reports suggesting that officials were not cooperating and affecting votes, Ramgopal Yadav countered that the BJP lost in the general elections not because of the officials but due to their own misdeeds, and is now blaming the officials.
