New Delhi:
An Indian soldier, who went missing during heavy snowfall along the India-China border, has been successfully rescued after three days. Security forces found the soldier, Anil Ram, after a 36-hour search operation. Anil is currently receiving treatment at an army hospital. He hails from Hethua village in Rajpur block, Bihar. Three days earlier, Anil went missing while patrolling the border. His disappearance caused panic in his hometown.
The search team finally rescued Anil from a cave located 84 kilometers away from Munsiyari. His brother, Gandhi Kumar, who is also the village deputy head, shared that Anil is being treated and will return home soon. According to reports, a team of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) soldiers left Munsiyari last Thursday to patrol the China border from Pithoragarh to Milam. Anil Ram and a porter named Devendra Singh were part of this team. However, both got lost due to the heavy snowfall.
The soldier and the porter spent the night inside a cave to survive the extreme weather. Despite the difficult conditions, the rescue team worked tirelessly to find them. On the third day, they located the two men in a cave, 84 kilometers away from Munsiyari. SDM Shresth Gunasola reported that both men were found safe. They got separated from their team because four feet of snow had accumulated in the area.
The rescue team conducted the operation under harsh conditions, and despite the bad weather, their bravery and dedication ensured that both Anil and Devendra were found safe. Anil Ram is now under treatment and is expected to return home soon.
