Shah Rukh Khan is not called the King Khan without reason. Apart from ruling Bollywood and earning big, he also tops the list of highest taxpayers in India. Among the top five individual taxpayers in the financial year 2023-24, Shah Rukh Khan stands at the top.
Shah Rukh Khan Becomes the Top Taxpayer
In the financial year 2023-24, Shah Rukh Khan paid a total tax of ₹92 crore, making him the highest taxpayer in India. His films Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki were released during this period, with Pathaan and Jawan breaking box office records.
Vijay is Second on the List
The second position is held by Tamil film superstar Vijay, who is known as the G.O.A.T actor of Kollywood. Vijay, who recently hinted at a shift to politics, paid ₹80 crore in taxes. This places him just behind Shah Rukh Khan in the list of highest taxpayers.
Salman Khan Secures Third Place
Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, Salman Khan, holds the third spot. The Bigg Boss host paid ₹75 crore in taxes during the financial year 2023-24.
Amitabh Bachchan is Fourth
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who has been hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati for 24 years, secured the fourth spot. He paid ₹71 crore in taxes, just ₹4 crore less than Salman Khan.
Virat Kohli Makes It to the Top 5
The only non-actor on the list is cricketer Virat Kohli. Known for his exceptional cricketing skills and being the husband of Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, Kohli paid ₹66 crore in taxes, earning him the fifth spot among India’s top taxpayers.
