Before the announcement of by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, the seat-sharing deal between BJP and its ally RLD (Rashtriya Lok Dal) is almost finalized. On Monday, UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary and RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary met in Delhi. During the meeting, it was decided that RLD would get one seat – the Mirapur Assembly seat. Pictures of their meeting have been shared.
RLD posted these photos on its social media, saying, “UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary met Union Minister (Independent Charge) and RLD National President Chaudhary Jayant Singh Ji for a courtesy meeting. They discussed several issues including upcoming by-elections in Uttar Pradesh.”
Talks with Nishad Party Ongoing
In addition to RLD, Bhupendra Chaudhary also spoke with Yogi government minister and Nishad Party Chief Dr. Sanjay Nishad over the phone. They discussed the by-elections, alliance, and seat-sharing. According to sources, BJP has offered one seat to the Nishad Party as well. However, the final decision with the Nishad Party is still pending.
By-elections are to be held on 10 seats in the state. Previously, RLD had an MLA from the Mirapur seat in western UP, but after Chandan Chauhan became a Member of Parliament, the seat was vacated. Therefore, it was expected that RLD would get this seat, and now the alliance has been confirmed.

These upcoming by-elections are crucial for the BJP, especially after its loss in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The party is preparing to win all 10 seats, but the announcement of candidates is yet to be made.
