Jharkhand Election News: Assembly elections in Jharkhand are likely to be held in November-December this year. The Election Commission of India might announce the dates next week. Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the election co-incharge for Jharkhand BJP and Assam’s Chief Minister, said on Sunday that the party will soon release its first list of candidates.
Before attending the BJP’s election committee meeting, Himanta Biswa Sarma told the media that the first list of BJP candidates will be released within a week.
Parliamentary Board Will Decide on Candidate Names
He explained, “Although we wanted to do this earlier, the circumstances changed. In today’s election committee meeting, we will discuss the panel for 81 seats.”
Sarma mentioned that three names have been considered for each assembly seat. After this, the final decision on candidates will be made in the party’s parliamentary board meeting. He also said that there is a complete process for selecting candidates and “our internal discussions have been completed.”

What He Said About Haryana
When asked about the exit polls for Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections, the Assam Chief Minister said, “I was not very involved in the elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana, so I can’t say much about the situation there. But I believe we will do well in the Jammu region, and the results in Haryana will also be in our favor.”
Voting for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana was completed on Saturday. Many exit polls suggest that BJP might lose power, and after 10 years, Congress may return. The exit polls have boosted Congress’s confidence. However, senior BJP leaders believe that the exit poll results in Haryana have changed in the past, and they will change again this time. They are confident that a ‘double-engine’ government will be formed for the third time in Haryana.
