Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has been appointed as the next Chief of the Air Staff. He is currently serving as the Vice Chief of the Air Force. On September 30, 2024, in the afternoon, he will take over as the new Air Chief Marshal. The current Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, will retire on the same day.
Early Life and Career
Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh was born on October 27, 1964. Before this major responsibility, he became the 47th Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force on February 1, 2023. For the past few days, there were speculations that Amar Preet Singh’s name might be considered for the position of the next Air Force Chief.

When Did He Join the Air Force?
During his service, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh achieved several important milestones. He was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on December 21, 1984, from the Air Force Academy, Dundigal. He has been serving in the Air Force for 38 years. He trained at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and the Air Force Academy, Dundigal. He also attended the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the National Defence College in New Delhi.

The future Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, recently made headlines by flying the Indian fighter jet Tejas at the age of 59, impressing many with his skill and experience. For his service, he has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
