The Waqf Amendment Bill has created a big political storm in Maharashtra. After Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) voted against the bill, BJP has started targeting him. Now, Maharashtra minister and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has made strong remarks, accusing Uddhav of betraying Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology.
🔥 What Did Bawankule Say?
Bawankule said:
“Uddhav Thackeray has given up the thoughts of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray and accepted Congress ideology. If Balasaheb was alive, he would have supported the Waqf Bill. But Uddhav chose to stand with the Congress for vote-bank politics.”
🗳️ ‘Uddhav is Doing Vote Politics’
He further added:
“Uddhav is doing all this for votes. In the recent BMC elections, to get Muslim votes, he has gone too far. A few months ago, even Pakistani flags were seen at rallies of his MPs. His politics is now all about vote banks.”
🚨 ‘Big Crime to Oppose Waqf Bill’
Bawankule called Uddhav’s vote against the bill a big mistake, saying:
“This is a huge crime. I can confidently say that many Shiv Sainiks at booth and taluka levels are now ready to leave the party. People are messaging that they are disappointed and want to quit.”
He predicted:
“In the next six months, Uddhav Thackeray’s party will be empty. No one will be left to fight for him.”
🏛️ What Is the Waqf Bill?
The Waqf Amendment Bill has now been passed in both houses of Parliament. It was passed in the Rajya Sabha on 3rd April, after over 12 hours of discussion. The bill got 128 votes in support and 95 votes against.
The bill focuses on changes in how waqf properties are managed and aims to bring more transparency and regulation.
Uddhav Thackeray’s stand on the bill has sparked a new round of political conflict, and BJP is using it to build pressure ahead of upcoming elections. Will this create a crisis inside Shiv Sena (UBT)? Only time will tell.
